Architect Hilde Vets studied at the HAI St. Lucas Ghent, Belgium and took apprenticeships at a.o. AWG/bOb Van Reeth, De Winter & Van Hunsel and Argentaurum/architect Eddy François.
Interested in architectural anthropology and vernacular (earthen) architecture, she researched during 6 years the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and settlements in the Indian Himalaya. Since 2003 she has been working on restoration projects in Ladakh for the Achi Association (India).
During all these years, she always kept designing either as freelance collaborator with several architectural offices or as independent architect.
